Brand Associate

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a highly analytical individual to fill the role of Brand Associate. Reporting to the Marketing Director, the Brand Associate is responsible for providing coordination and execution support to the brand segment portfolios for Ghirardelli and Russell Stover. This role encompasses project coordination, marketing analytics, product development, advertising & promotion basics and budget tracking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively provide insights and conclusions on sales and market off take data from Nielsen and Cognos to develop business analysis, toppling insights and key analytical tools for the brand and portfolio team to measure brand performance against aligned KPI's
  • Own competitive analysis including products, packaging, pricing, advertising and promotions with clear understanding of key competitors by channel and customer within each segment. Submit concise competitive updates with key insights/conclusions to inform commercial and global team
  • Develop financial understanding of P&L; what drives GP improvement
  • Provide ongoing competitive analysis of the category including products, packaging, pricing, advertising and promotions while ensuring a clear understanding of key competitors by channel and customer within each sub segment
  • Support the brand/segment product life cycle process, NPD charters, financials, packaging, displays, merchandising tools, SKU discontinuations and price/pack architecture
  • Develop sales materials, presentation preparation, project management, and developing packaging briefs to agencies
  • Provide ongoing competitive analysis of the category including products, packaging pricing, advertising and promotions while ensuring clear understanding of key competitors by channel and customer within each sub segment
  • Support the Marketing Director on brand projects while aligning to company IBP timelines
  • Assist to build the Ghiradelli and Russell Stover brands in all aspects of planning and commercialization
  • Provide support on gathering marketing knowledge and fundamentals to inform, advertising, promotions, consumer research, budgeting, creative production, printing and packaging technical skills, sponsorships, experiential
  • Liaise with other departments, specifically sales, logistics and finance, to ensure marketing programs are relevant, efficient, achievable, and valuable to the organization
  • Work to ensure brand continuity and compliance with international directives and policies
  • Continue to build knowledge business process - marketing (brands/ops/marcom.digital, inshore) sales, category management, sales strategy, finance, supply chain
  • Develop recommendations and manage execution of consumer insights based brand programs, promotions to deliver against objectives, including development of KPI's for effective measurement
  • Assist in the development of brief and the creative development of IMC marketing campaigns and promotions with multiple agency partners and stakeholders, ensuring consistent brand representation across all consumer touch-points
  • Ensure timely execution and implementation of activations (media/creative, digital/content, PR, experiential, sampling, partnerships)
  • Develop brand assets to be used offline/online - product images, lifestyle content, product descriptions.
  • Support the Marketing Director from a budget tracking perspective, by coordinating set ups and follow ups and managing sell sheets, price lists and product samples

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Marketing or relevant field
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in a similar role within the marketing function
  • Understanding of CPG/wholesale/retailer landscape and dynamics
  • Strong experience with Nielsen MarketTrack, POS/Shipment and Consumer/Shopper Tracker date with ability to translate data and research into meaningful insights and recommendations
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in fast-paced environments coordinating and executing marketing projects as as budget tracking
  • Broad understanding of marketing principles
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Cognos considered an asset
